A creative day out with Artist Sarah Macdonald
Following the success of my Summer Sketch & Paint Days, I’m delighted to be continuing these creative sessions into the Autumn. It has been a joy to share Cornwall’s wild Tin Coast and valleys with so many of you, and now you can join at a time that suits you best.
These days are designed to give you space to connect with the landscape through walking, sketching, and experimenting with a range of materials. No experience is needed, just a curiosity for nature and mark making.
Our day begins at Wild West Works Studio & Gallery in St Just before we set off on a guided walk along the stunning valleys and coastline of West Penwith. Over the course of two to three hours, you’ll have the opportunity to capture the landscape through quick, expressive sketches, focusing on the details that inspire you and experimenting with creative ways to convey them.
Afterward, we’ll return to Wild West Works, where you can develop your ideas further using a variety of materials on canvas or board. With my guidance (if wanted), you’ll be free to explore different artistic techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment.
With all materials provided, this experience is perfect for those traveling light.
Bad Weather? No Problem!
If the weather is not suitable for walking, we will still have a fun and engaging session indoors. I will guide you through creative warm-up exercises and playful artistic challenges to help loosen up creative tension—so you will be ready when the sun does shine.
Full Day Sketch & Paint
Guided coastal walk, sketching outdoors, and studio time to explore different materials.

A shorter creative experience focusing on sketching during a guided walk.
