Description
On her frequent walks along the rugged coast of West Penwith, Sarah often encounters the graceful kestrels that inhabit the area. One day, a kestrel landed near her, entirely unperturbed by her presence, to devour its freshly caught prey. This extraordinary encounter inspired Sarah to capture the moment on canvas, compelling her to diverge from her usual expressive style.
The gorse flowers in the foreground and the wave-like patterns of the sky contribute to a delicate, surreal atmosphere, mirroring the fleeting beauty of the moment. There’s a palpable sense of power and resilience shared between the kestrel and the spiky gorse, encapsulating the raw, untamed spirit of the landscape and its inhabitants.
